Telephone Hybrids

Telos Hx1

The Hx1 is a one-line telephone hybrid. It connects to a single POTS line, either from a Telco or as provided by a local PBX or a VoIP to POTS converter. The Hx1 contains an advanced 3rd-generation Telos hybrid for superior audio quality. Universal POTS interface features disconnect-signal detection, which works with Telco providers worldwide. DIP-switch settings control configuration and features, including built-in auto-answer. Audio SEND and CALLER meters, advanced audio processing; Analog I/O standard; AES/EBU I/O with automatic sample rate conversion optional.

Telos Hx2

The Hx2 is two, one-line telephone hybrids. Each of the two hybrids connects to a single POTS line, either from a Telco or as provided by a local PBX or a VoIP to POTS converter. The Hx2 contains advanced 3rd-generation Telos hybrids for superior audio quality. Universal POTS interfaces feature disconnect-signal detection, which works with Telco providers worldwide. Hybrids may be configured for 2-line conferencing allowing proper operation with just one mix-minus from the audio mixing console. DIP-switch settings control configuration and features, including built-in auto-answer. Audio SEND and CALLER meters, advanced audio processing; Analog I/O standard; AES/EBU I/O optional.

 

Telephone Talkshow Systems

Telos iQ6

The Telos iQ6 is a 6-line talkshow system for either POTS or ISDN lines. It has 2 built-in phone hybrids, and is controlled by the latest generation of Telos VSets and Axia Call Controller modules over Ethernet. The iQ6 is priced economically for users who also have an Axia console, as the iQ6 does not offer traditional XLR connectors for audio I/O, nor an traditional GPIO control. Instead, the iQ6’s audio I/O and control is via Livewire over Ethernet. The Telos iQ6 and VSet controllers are intended for indidual Axia-console studios using POTS or ISDN phone lines.

Telos Hx6

The Telos Hx6 is a 6-line talkshow system for either POTS or ISDN lines. It is equivalent to the iQ6, except that the Hx6 offers traditional audio I/O over XLR connectors in addition to Livewire/Ethernet audio. The Hx6 also offers physical GPIO connections to indicate certain lines ringing in and hybrid ON/OFF status. Like the iQ6, the Hx6 is controlled by the latest generation of Telos VSets and Axia Call Controller modules over Ethernet. The Telos iQ6 and VSet controllers are intended for individual studios using POTS or ISDN phone lines, where analog or AES audio on XLR connectors is desired.

Telos VX

The Telos VX is a multi-studio talkshow system with up to 12 line appearances per show. It’s also the first multi-line, multi-studio talkshow system to use VoIP (Voice over IP) connections over SIP (Session Initiation Protocol). A single Telos VX Engine can provide excellent on-air or production talk-show and single-line phone audio to up to 10 studios, depending on use. The VX Engine connects natively to SIP trunks or extensions, either from a SIP provider, on-site SIP PBX, or from a SIP gateway, translating POTS, T1/E1, or ISDN lines into SIP. Using Livewire IP-Audio, studios easily and quickly connect to the VX Engine for clear caller conversations. VSet phones and Axia phone control modules allow for easy call screening, interviews, and fast-paced on-air caller interaction. The Telos VX talkshow system is designed for multi-line, multi-show, and multi-studio operation in a modern, Ethernet-based audio and data environment. Connects seamlessly to studios with Axia audio consoles, and is easily connected to traditional audio consoles and audio routing systems using analog or AES digital audio.

[2] = Many 3rd party devices, called “Analog Terminal Adapters” or “ATAs” are available to convert SIP services to POTS. Some are proprietary to the SIP provider (such as Vonage) while other SIP providers allow use of inexpensive, standards-based, off-the-shelf ATAs.

[3] = VX systems are Livewire-based for audio I/O. Axia console-equipped studios require no further I/O devices. Other, non-Livewire studios and consoles will require Telos or Axia audio nodes for analog or AES digital I/O.
