Axia Altus SE Overview
The power of Altus, simplified
Altus SE brings all of the features and benefits of the Axia Altus virtual mixing console to a form factor that prioritizes simple, straightforward installation.
Like Altus, Altus SE offers a full-function browser-based mixer for remote events and contributors. Built on compact fanless hardware, its small size and silent operation make it an ideal choice for in-studio use. Its ease of deployment also makes it ideal for remote broadcasts, temporary studios, and disaster recovery sites.
Capable and expandable
A base Altus SE license includes 8 faders and can be expanded to up to 24 faders in 4-fader increments via buyout-style licenses. WebRTC features are offered via additional licenses.
Native Livewire+ AES67 support
Altus SE supports Livewire+ AES67, giving broadcasters the flexibility to integrate it into any Livewire or AES67 facility.
Pathfinder control and support
Altus SE works with Telos Alliance Pathfinder Core PRO to make the most of the logic, control, and routing capabilities of Livewire+

Axia Altus SE In-Depth
The power of virtualization with the simplicity of dedicated hardware
The Axia® Altus virtual mixing console introduced broadcasters to a world of possibilities beyond the capabilities of traditional hardware surfaces. It allows on-air talent, producers, and contributors to collaborate and broadcast from anywhere, at any time, using a desktop or laptop computer, tablet, or even a smartphone running any HTML5-capable browser.
However, deploying and configuring container-delivered software can pose a technical challenge that prevents many broadcasters from enjoying the benefits of virtualization.
Altus SE overcomes that barrier by providing the same features and user experience as Altus, but on an easy-to-deploy, purpose-built hardware platform.
Compact, simple, and silent
Altus SE has a compact footprint, making installation possible just about anywhere. Up to three Altus SE devices can sit side-by-side on a standard rack shelf. Its fanless design means silent operation, making Altus SE ideal for in-studio use.
Just as capable and powerful as Altus
Altus SE delivers the same user experience and features as Altus, including the ability to connect from an HTML5-capable browser on any desktop or laptop computer, tablet, or smartphone. It includes a base license that provides 8 faders, expandable to up to 24 faders in 4-fader increments with additional licenses.
The built-in call controller offers integrated control of Telos VX® VoIP broadcast phone systems, while its Livewire+ AES67 I/O leverages the power of Livewire+ and AES67 AoIP networks.
Altus SE includes 4 dedicated stereo program mixes, plus 2 stereo utility mixes that can be used for phone calls and off-air recording. Each fader offers a PFL cue feature for previewing sources, automatic mix-minus capabilities, a 3-band EQ, dynamics processing, and talkback functionality. An automix feature automatically balances levels of on-air microphones when more than one mic is in use. Studio and control room monitor controls are included, with direct selection of 4 program busses and user-configurable buttons to monitor external sources. Unlimited source profiles and 26 quick-recall show profiles make configuration changes for shows and dayparts simple and convenient.
Available Beacon SaaS Server for WebRTC functionality
Beacon Saas (Software as a Service) is an optional cloud-hosted version of Beacon Server, Telos Alliance’s WebRTC Signaling server. In keeping with our mission to make Altus SE as easy as possible to deploy and configure, Beacon SaaS simplifies the WebRTC component that allows for audio contribution and monitoring by eliminating the need for a local Beacon Server.
Telos Alliance handles all deployment, system security, and maintenance as part of a one-year renewable subscription. ICE Services (STUN/TURN) are facilitated by a separate subscription that is sold and supported by Xirsys.
