Telos Alliance's Hans van Zutphen to Deliver Paper on MPX over a 320kbps Connection at IEEE Broadcast Symposium

The Telos Alliance®—leader in broadcast technology and parent company to Telos®, Omnia®, Axia®, 25-Seven®, Linear Acoustic®, and Minnetonka™—announced today that Omnia Audio Processing Developer Hans van Zutphen will be delivering his paper, "A New Way to Transmit an FM Composite Signal Reliably Over a Low-Bandwidth Connection," on Friday, October 14, 9:30AM, at the IEEE Broadcast Symposium in Hartford, Connecticut.
The session will explain the tech behind Telos Alliance's new µMPX FM-Stereo Composite Codec, which is able to transport high-quality Multiplexed FM signals over a small 320kbps data pipe. Reduced data requirements mean high-quality multiplexed audio and RDS signals can be directly routed over IP from a processor into an exciter, opening tremendous possibilities for efficient MPX audio transport. Attendees are invited to come learn about this new codec, the technology, and its potential applications in this informative session.
µMPX was previewed at both NAB and IBC 2016, and is making its way into upcoming Telos Alliance projects, such as OmniaSST low-latency audio processing software. Based on a powerful processing engine designed by Van Zutphen, OmniaSST incorporates µMPX, along with a full suite of audio-processing tools designed to clean and repair incoming audio, optimizing it before it hits compression, limiting, and final processing stages.
The IEEE Broadcast Symposium will run October 12-14, and is one of the world's preeminent technical conferences on broadcasting technology.
