New capabilities extend the flexAI platform across more live, IP, UHD, and cloud production workflows
Cleveland, Ohio (September 2, 2026) - Telos Alliance® will introduce a major expansion of the Jünger Audio™ flexAI audio processing platform at IBC 2026. The flexAI system adds autonomous live mixing, new 12G-SDI and NDI connectivity, and integration with TVU MediaMesh to its already impressive array of audio-handling tools.
These new capabilities extend flexAI to additional live production environments while preserving the controlled latency and predictable operation that broadcasters expect from real-time audio processing.
At the center of the new developments is flexAI CastCompanion, an autonomous broadcast mixing engine powered by JAIC, the Jünger Audio Intelligent Companion. Designed for live sports commentary, news, broadcast production, and podcasts, CastCompanion automatically creates broadcast-ready mixes from voice sources that often vary considerably in level, quality, and background noise, delivering consistent, intelligible output without requiring an operator to continually ride levels or adjust processing parameters.
CastCompanion uses AI where it can provide practical assistance while keeping it deterministic in the critical real-time audio path. JAIC analyzes the incoming signals and continuously optimizes the parameters, while the mix itself remains in Jünger Audio’s predictable real-time processing path. AI-based denoising can additionally improve challenging voice inputs. This approach preserves the predictable latency and reliability required for live production while leveraging AI to simplify operations.
Within a single workflow, CastCompanion combines autonomous automixing, AI-assisted denoising and background noise removal, voice enhancement, upmixing to 7.1.4, and loudness management. It supports major broadcast loudness standards and is designed to closely approach the loudness and dialogue-balance objectives of EBU R 128 S4 in real time. A dedicated low-latency monitoring path also allows talent and operators to monitor without the delay introduced by the complete processing chain.
flexAI will also expand its role in UHD and DCI live-production workflows with a new 12G-SDI interface for AIXpressor. The interface supports SD-SDI, HD-SDI, 3G-SDI, 6G-SDI, and 12G-SDI formats up to 4K/UHD 60p, along with plenty of integrated video delay for precise audio/video synchronization. An integrated test-pattern generator helps simplify commissioning and workflow verification. The new interface is already available for customer proof-of-concept projects, with commercial availability planned for the end of 2026.
New NDI audio connectivity extends flexAI further into IP-based production. Available for AIXpressor, flexAIserver, and flexAIcloud, the new software interface provides scalable, channel-based IP audio connectivity. A base license supports 16 audio channels, with additional 16-channel expansion licenses available to match larger production requirements.
Jünger Audio is also bringing the flexAI processing portfolio directly into TVU MediaMesh workflows. This integration will make Jünger Audio processing and codecs, metadata handling, and Next Generation Audio capabilities available within the MediaMesh production environment, eliminating the need for a separate processing platform.
“Live production is increasingly moving across hardware, IP, software, and cloud environments, but the expectations for audio don’t change,” said Costa Nikols, Executive Vice President of Product Development, Telos Alliance. “It still has to be reliable, predictable, and ready for air. The additions that Junger is making to flexAI are all about giving broadcasters more ways to build and scale their workflows, while keeping those fundamentals firmly in place.”
Together, the new capabilities extend flexAI across AIXpressor, flexAIserver, flexAIcloud, NDI, and TVU MediaMesh environments while maintaining the controlled latency, broadcast-ready loudness, and resilient voice processing required for live production.
