Cleveland, Ohio (August 14, 2025) - Telos Alliance®, a trusted global leader in broadcast audio for more than three decades, joins Fraunhofer IIS in announcing a demonstration of the first complete IP production and broadcasting chain utilizing MPEG-H Audio to transport audio and S-ADM metadata over SMPTE ST 2110-30 and 2110-41.
The first demonstration showcasing this workflow will be at SET Expo 2025, Latin America’s premier business and technology event, August 18 to 21, 2025, in São Paulo, Brazil. It will be followed by demonstrations at Europe’s leading broadcasting and technology exhibition, IBC, which will run from September 12 to 15, 2025, in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
These demonstrations will highlight the interoperability of advanced, purpose-built IP-based production and distribution tools in the Jünger Audio™ flexAI platform and the Linear Acoustic® AMS Authoring and Monitoring System employing Fraunhofer’s MPEG-H Audio technology. These integrations illustrate firsthand how MPEG-H Audio enables automated, real-time switching between various audio and video formats with seamless S-ADM metadata carriage over ST 2110-41.
BBright’s Integrated Playout media platform and Ateme’s lineup of MPEG-H-equipped emission encoders will round out the demonstrations.
MPEG-H Audio is the first audio technology to be deployed in regular 4K terrestrial broadcasting applications, and the sole audio system selected for Brazil’s DTV+ branded implementation of TV 3.0 to deliver Next Generation Audio to viewers. Its adoption underscores the technology’s readiness for large-scale deployment in modern IP-based broadcast environments, and when combined with S-ADM, empowers broadcasters to deliver features such as customizable commentary, dialogue enhancement, and immersive sound that can be dynamically customized to individual viewer preferences in real time.
Roman Rehausen, Product Manager, Jünger Audio, says, “We are proud to contribute real-time loudness control and metadata handling that support the full potential of MPEG-H Audio through our Jünger Audio flexAI platform. These tools ensure that broadcasters can confidently manage complex audio setups in dynamic live environments without sacrificing quality or compliance.”
John Schur, Telos Alliance President of Media Solutions, emphasizes the importance of interoperability: “This collaboration highlights the real-world value of open standards like S-ADM and ST 2210-41 in enabling next-generation workflows, and is especially relevant in light of Brazil’s TV 3.0 system to deliver Next Generation Audio. With our lineup of software- and hardware-based products from Minnetonka Audio, Jünger Audio, and Linear Acoustic, Telos Alliance is committed to making immersive audio accessible and manageable, from authoring through transmission, so that broadcasters can deliver the best possible experience to every viewer.”
Visitors to Fraunhofer IIS booths at SET Expo 2025, #47, and IBC2025, Stand 8.B80, will see firsthand how MPEG-H Audio enables automated, real-time switching between various audio and video formats with seamless S-ADM metadata carriage over ST 2110-41. Telos Alliance will be exhibiting its portfolio of television audio products at SET Expo in Stand 103A and at IBC in Stand 8.D37.
