New Television Audio Introductions Lead the Way in AoIP at NAB

Highlights Include Advancements in Standards-Based Codecs, Communication Systems, and System Management Software

Las Vegas, NV (April 8, 2019) – The Telos Alliance, the global leader in audio technologies for radio and television, is charging ahead at NAB 2019 in Las Vegas this week. Booth SU3921 is home to the Telos Alliance TV Solutions Group, which is showcasing an impressive portfolio of new software and hardware innovations and enhancements designed to leverage the extensive capabilities of Audio over IP (AoIP).

“The Telos Alliance continues to develop new and exciting innovations for television professionals that deliver improved workflow efficiencies and make the most of the versatility and cost-efficiency of AoIP,” said John Schur, President, TV Solutions Group, The Telos Alliance.

AoIP is the centerpiece for the Telos Alliance at NAB 2019 with a wide selection of new products on display that embody new advancements in standards-based codecs, communication systems, and system management software, as well as the latest developments in loudness control and file-based audio automation solutions.

Highlighted introductions include:

Linear Acoustic® LA-5291 Professional Audio Encoder
The LA-5291 provides decoding, encoding, and transcoding in support of next-generation immersive audio. The LA-5291 decodes Dolby® E and ED2 to PCM, transcodes Dolby E and ED2 to Dolby Digital Plus and Dolby Digital Plus Atmos, and encodes PCM and PCM with PMD to Dolby Digital Plus and Dolby Digital Plus Atmos. Native AES67 I/O provides SMPTE ST 2110-30 compliance.

Telos Infinity® Link
Infinity Link seamlessly extends the reach and usability of the Telos Infinity IP Intercom by providing site-to-site connectivity over WAN, including the Internet. Direct communication is no longer bound by the speed of a dedicated network, effectively bringing the rest of the world directly into the matrix-free Infinity ecosystem.

Linear Acoustic ARC Loudness Processor
Linear Acoustic ARC is a SMPTE ST 2110-30-compliant next-generation television loudness processor for stereo and mono programming, featuring our APTO® loudness adaptation algorithm. ARC is simple to set up using any web browser, provides loudness logging for all programs, and is compliant with all global loudness standards including ATSC A/85 and EBU R128.

Minnetonka AudioTools® Server Updates
AudioTools Server Version 5 brings an all new web user interface to the world’s leading file-based audio automation platform. Netflix compliance profiles, new quality control features, Kantar watermarking, and AutoMix are just a few of the new features and enhancements in this major release.

Dolby has recommended AudioTools Server as a replacement for their discontinued VM600 Program Optimizer for customers seeking loudness correction, audio conversion, and upmixing. AudioTools Server supports integrations, file formats, and Dolby processing options previously available in the VM600, while also adding an abundance of other benefits and unique features.

Telos Alliance SDI Node
The newSDI Node builds upon the success of the popular Telos Alliance xNode family by de-embedding two separate HD/SD-SDI inputs and converting up to 16 channels of audio to the Livewire+™ AES67 AoIP format. The audio is then available as a Livewire® network source for processing and distribution, and can be re-embedded into two separate SDI output streams. Compensating video delay for each SDI input ensures audio/video synchronization is maintained.

Linear Acoustic UPMAX® ISC
Linear Acoustic UPMAX ISC is a brand-new television audio upmixer supporting the immersive audio capabilities
of ATSC 3.0. Employing a completely new algorithm, it can upmix 2-channel, 3-channel, 5.1-channel, and 7.1-channel audio to immersive audio formats including 5.1+4 and 7.1+4 as well as legacy formats including 5.1- and 7.1. Native AES67 I/O provides SMPTE ST 2110-30 compliance.

Also on display in the television booth is a selection of Jünger Audio-branded products, which the Telos Alliance will market, sell, and support globally. The addition of Jünger Audio products further increases the company’s ability to address the specific needs of the market, especially with respect to global audio processing standards and regional preferences.
