TA Speaking Tech at 2016 Wisconsin Broadcasters Association Clinic

CLEVELAND, OH  – 23 September 2016

The Telos Alliance®—leader in broadcast technology and parent company to Telos®, Omnia®, Axia®, 25-Seven®, Linear Acoustic®, and Minnetonka™—announced today that it will be delivering two seminars at theWisconsin Broadcasters Association 60th Broadcasters Clinic October 11–13 at the Madison Marriott West Hotel in Middleton, Wisconsin. The Telos Alliance will also have its own booth, #50, where it will show a wide range of products.

Technology Sessions

µMPX™ FM-Stereo Composite Connectivity Via IP
Telos Alliance CEO and founder of Omnia Audio Frank Foti will speak on µMPX FM-Stereo Composite Connectivity Via IP on Tuesday October 11th at 10:00am, Madison Marriott West in the Superior Room.

The session will explain the tech behind Telos Alliance's revolutionary µMPX FM-Stereo Composite Codec, which is able to transport high-quality Multiplexed FM signals over a small 320kbps data pipe. Reduced data requirements mean high-quality multiplexed audio and RDS signals can be directly routed over IP from a processor into an exciter, opening tremendous possibilities for efficient MPX audio transport. Attendees are invited to come learn about this new codec and its potential applications in this informative session.

Adaptive Multi-Rate Audio Streaming
Kirk Harnack will give a presentation on Adaptive Multi-Rate Audio Streaming on Tuesday, October 11th at 2:45pm, Madison Marriott West in the Superior Room.

Kirk will cover everything from technical and commercial insights on how Adaptive Multi-Rate Streaming Audio is created and served, to the current options for convenient uptake by listeners. Through this session, broadcasters will get a better understanding of the practical applications and software to ensure the best quality of experience. Kirk will also touch on various standards and options available and how to choose those best suited for broadcasters.

Telos Alliance on the Floor

Telos Alliance will be well-represented throughout the show both in its own booth #50, as well as in dealer partner Broadcasters General Store's booths #12-15 with a wide range of gear including an Axia Fusion AoIP Mixing Console powered by a PowerStation Integrated Console Engine, complete with the new Fusion 3.1 software update that adds AES67 support.

Telos Alliance will also show its new Telos VX Prime, which offers the same level of great performance as Telos' lauded VX system to smaller facilities with two to four studios—all on an IP backbone that sounds better and costs less. For those who haven't made the switch to IP, the Telos Systems HX1 one-line POTS telephone hybrid with VSet headsets will also be on-hand.

Additionally, the Z/IP ONE award-winning IP codec from Telos helps broadcasters get the best possible quality from public IP networks and mobile data services; even from connections behind NATs and firewalls.

For those who want to stream their stations in the best possible quality, the new Z/IPStream R/2 provides a multitude of streaming options for the broadcaster while maximizing audio quality for the listener, allowing flexible, multi-format stream-encoding for up to eight audio programs in a single 1RU chassis. The Z/IPStream R/1 will also be demonstrated.

Finally, two new Omnia products will be shown: the Omnia.7AM, a premium, feature-rich audio processor that’s surprisingly affordable and purpose-built for AM radio, and the Omnia.11 with the one-two punch of the new G-Force Dynamics Engine and Perfect Declipper options. Designed by Frank Foti and Cornelius Gould, G-Force is the new dynamics processing framework that enables the Omnia.11 to set the overall EQ for signature consistency, making it sound cleaner, clearer, louder, more consistent, more open, and more pleasing. The Perfect Declipper, engineered by audio-processing legend Hans van Zutphen, uses a revolutionary new algorithm to replace clipped areas in audio recordings, restoring dynamics and removing distortion.
