Axia releases new Audio Node software

Free update to v2.5.2g for all Axia clients.

31 July 2008, Cleveland Ohio, USA

Axia Audio has just released Version 2.5.2g Software for their family of Analog and AES/EBU Audio Nodes, devices that convert broadcast-quality audio into routable, real-time Ethernet streams for Axia IP-Audio Networks.

Version 2.5.2g introduces several enhancements and upgrades for users of Axia Audio Nodes, including:

  • Mono Mode, which allows each Node’s inputs to be independently configured as either Mono or Stereo, with a total of up to 8 inputs (mono or stereo) per node.
  • Continuous software monitoring of AES circuits to correct momentary error conditions caused by interruption of the AES signal, along with SYSLOG notification of changes in AES sync state.
  • Visual identification of allocated sources, via each Audio Node’s HTTP configuration pages. Real-time source allocation status instantly pinpoints who’s using a given audio source.
  • Router Selector Nodes now include front-panel hardware volume control of their Analog and AES/EBU output streams.

Software updates for all Axia products are provided at no cost. Axia clients can obtain downloads directly from the Axia website at AxiaAudio.com/downloads/.

More than 1,000 studios worldwide are now on-the-air with Axia IP-Audio system, which allow broadcasters to build audio networks of any size using standard switched Ethernet to connect a few rooms, or an entire facility. Axia networks have a total system capacity of more than 10,000 audio streams, and can carry hundreds of digital stereo (or nearly a hundred surround) channels over a single CAT-6 cable, eliminating much of the cost normally associated with wiring labor and infrastructure.

Axia products include the popular Element modular broadcast console, a family of “audio nodes” that allow easy mixing and matching of digital, analog and microphone audio, and a comprehensive suite of network administration and routing control software.
