Telos Announces TWOx12 Version 3.0 Software Upgrade

Telos Announces TWOx12 Version 3.0 Software Upgrade
Award-Winning Talk Show System Now Has Two-Studio Capability

5 April 2003, Las Vegas, Nevada

Telos Systems’ popular TWOx12 Talkshow System, the dual-hybrid 12-line broadcast telephone system that works with analog or digital telephone circuits, now includes the ability to manage phone lines for two separate studios, thanks to newly released Version 3.0 software.

Version 3.0 software provides TWOx12 users with a highly requested feature: multiple-studio capability. Using the new Dual Studio mode, exclusive control of one of TWOx12’s two hybrids is assigned to each studio. On-air lines can now be shared between two separate studios, allowing use of a single TWOx12 for simultaneous production of live and pre-recorded talk segments.

In Dual Studio mode each studio controls one of TWOx12’s two hybrids. Users can choose to:

  • Evenly divide incoming lines between two studios.
  • Share all incoming lines between both studios.
  • Custom-assign individual lines to specific studios.

Show configurations can be accessed at the touch of button using Assistant Producer software or Telos Desktop Director producer’s phones.

In addition, TWOx12 Version 3.0 software includes new Automatic Gain Control (AGC) routines to smooth calls from high-gain cellular phones, and the ability to designate any incoming line as a priority, or “hot” line. Version 3.0 works with the latest version of Telos Assistant Producer call screening software (v3.5), which includes enhancements such as multi-lingualsupport(English, French, Spanish, and German), user-customizable screens, and expanded Caller Data Log functionality. TWOx12 owners can upgrade their systems to Version 3.0 software free of charge by visiting the Telos website, or using the front-panel update function.

Designed specifically for fast-paced talkshow production, TWOx12 takes full advantage of ISDN to deliver clean, clear talk segments free of annoying crosstalk and induced noise. Improved line status signaling and Caller ID support provided by digital phone lines is combined with exclusive icon-based Status Symbol™ visual call management to give unparalleled control of the on-air environment; remote talk show production can easily be accomplished via LAN or WAN using optional Assistant Producer 3.5 call screening software. When configured for use with POTS lines, TWOx12 provides superior call quality and can be upgraded for use with ISDN later if desired.

Broadcasters and networks around the world rely daily on Telos talkshow systems to deliver the cleanest, clearest caller audio. The British Broadcasting Corporation, ABC Radio Networks, Clear Channel Worldwide, Sony, Radio France, Infinity Broadcasting, Swedish Radio, Westwood One,RAI, Premiere Radio Networks, Talk America Radio Networks, XM Satellite Radio, CNBC, ESPN and The Rock ‘N Roll Hall of Fame use Telos, as do major syndicated personalities such as Rush Limbaugh and Dr. Laura Schlesinger.
